# AppEnhancer - Using relative paths with the AEImportUtility

## In AppEhancer, what is the best practice for using relative paths to access files when importing with the AEImportUtility

23.4 through 25.2  
Applies to future versions as well

**Resolution:**  
To use relative paths, the import files and images must be located in the same directory from which the AEImportUtility is executed. This ensures that the utility can correctly resolve the file paths during the import process without requiring absolute paths.
