AppEnhancer - REST API Access the OpenAPI Specification and Import into Postman

Developers have access to the AppEnhancer REST API Swagger UI, but would like to know if a swagger.json file is available for the AppEnhancerREST API, similar to the one provided for the AppEnhancer Administrator API.

 Resolution
  1. Open the Swagger UI for your AppEnhancer REST service.
  2. Locate the specification URL displayed at the top of the Swagger page. In the reported deployment, it appeared in the upper-right corner.
  3. Copy that URL. Use the specification URL displayed within Swagger, not the browser address for the Swagger UI page.
  4. Paste the copied URL into a browser and confirm that it returns JSON information.
  5. In Postman, start an import and provide the copied specification URL.
  6. Complete the import to create a collection of API methods.

Expected result: Postman creates a collection from the AppEnhancer REST API specification. A separate downloaded JSON file is not required for the URL-based import confirmed in this case.

If the Swagger link is missing:

If the Swagger link is not present on the REST service root page, Swagger must be enabled in the REST service’s web.config file.

Validation
Copying the URL from the top of the Swagger page and importing it directly into Postman created a collection of API methods and resolved the request.
