AX 24.4 - Administrative Services Index Image Import

In AX 24.2  an Administrative Services Index Image Import became stuck in processing and could not be re-submitted or cancelled in the web admin. While the import was hung, image access was lost.

 Symptoms
  • Import remained in processing
  • Job could not be canceled or re-submitted in web admin
  • Restarting the admin server did not clear the job
  • Restarting the import service did not clear the job
  • Unlocking the application and deleting import PID entries did not resolve it
  • Images were unavailable while the job was stuck
Customer question

The customer wanted to know whether the hung job could be removed directly in the database.

Resolution

The customer reported they found a .sta file in D:\jobs on their server. After changing the status in that file from processing to canceled, the admin reflected the change.
