Resolution:
In-place upgrade of the Windows Operating System that currently has the Kofax Capture application installed is not officially supported.

Upgrading the Operating System, which currently has Kofax Capture installed can corrupt the Kofax Capture Application and lead to unexplained issues which have been reported and confirmed. If there is a need to move to a new version of the Operating System, the supported method is to uninstall Kofax Capture, upgrade the Operating sytem, then install Kofax Capture brand new or install Kofax Capture on a completely new PC with the desired Operating System.
